Have You Got What It Takes

Have you had that feeling, where you guess the ad is overly inflated yet you know you must have a look, just in case it proves to be true?

I turned up for an interview at the offices of Liberty Life Financial Services, who were Number three in the country at the time. During the interview, the guy in charge was very pleasant, he asked me about my goals and aspirations, yet before I had realised what was happening, his kind pleasant voice had led me through a series of questions to a position where he only had to ask me to sign on the bottom line, and I would of had no alternative but to take out an investment policy. Fearful, I thought perhaps this was just a ploy to get more people in.

I was so cornered with his skill with words, not out of pressure, but almost wanting to do it because he wanted me to.

I sat speechless not knowing which way to turn, when suddenly he sat back, and said with a smile, "relax, I'm only practising, but this is the sort of presentation we will be teaching you to give".

I must be totally honest, I sighed a huge breath of relief, yet, I had nothing but total admiration for this guy, I did not know it was possible to steer a persons thoughts to such a degree, where that person in turn would then be prepared to give you their money. It was at this moment I first realised, salesmanship was a truly professional art.
